As Western Australia’s largest fishing club the MAAC has a very active angling division. The Angling & Sports Division “A & S” run monthly fishing competitions for small boats (inshore) and larger boats offshore. Boats launch early Saturday morning and upon completion of the competition, competitors return to the club for the weigh-in in the boatshed at 4pm. After the weigh-in a BBQ is held in the boatshed for participants, families and club members to attend.
The MAAC Dive club participates in several styles of diving. Our members include technical divers with twin tanks and rebreathes, spearfishes, free divers and cave and cavern divers. The majority of the MAAC divers are Open Water divers who regularly dive to catch crayfish, prawns and crabs. The Dive club meets on a regular basis for competition and social diving. The MAAC has a range of facilities including a compressor room with tank refill.
The pool division of the club is very active and meets on Monday evenings from 7.00pm for informal practice. The pool club currently has two competitive teams. Throughout the year the Pool Club holds a monthly competition which is open to all members of the club. This competition is held on the last Sunday of each month and is designed to be a fun, social afternoon for players of all abilities.
The MAAC has an active darts section who share their home with the Pool Club in our Sea Wall Bar. Games are played on Tuesday nights starting at 7.00pm. New players are always welcome. You need to be a member of MAAC to play for MAAC. We are affiliated with the BLUEWATER DARTS ASSOCIATION.
This is an activity provided by the Club that gives children an opportunity to experience angling and aquatic activities in a relaxed atmosphere. Juniors runs on Sunday morning from October through to March each year. Activities include kayaking, snorkelling, fishing, boogie boarding, pool, table tennis and soccer tables all of which are supplied by the MAAC. We also have 2 aluminium dinghies that we use to take the children fishing in local waters when weather conditions are favourable.
