It is with a heavy heart that the Marmion Angling and Aquatic Club advise the 2023 Blue Water Classic scheduled to be held in February will be cancelled due to the new demersal ban in place, which the Club does not support. This is a decision the Club has not made lightly; we have considered alternative dates to cater for this event, however the difficult decision has been made to cancel this event in full to respect those running other fishing based events already in place around Western Australia throughout 2023.
This is a disappointment for the MAAC members, the wider community and the many businesses and valued sponsors that revolve both around fishing and this annual event.
To all our loyal sponsors and competitors thank you for your support in making this one of the largest and longest running fishing events. The Blue Water Classic organising committee are invested in planning and running this great event in 2024 with due consideration for the newly announced demersal ban.
